Primary Engineer: If You Were An Engineer, What Would You Do?

Helping children develop creativity, problem-solving skills, and confidence through real-world learning opportunities.

Primary Engineer

About this Event

For the past two years, our children have proudly participated in the “If You Were an Engineer, What Would You Do?” competition delivered by the Primary Engineer Leaders Award programme. This national initiative encourages children to identify problems in everyday life and design innovative solutions, just like real engineers.

The project inspires young people to think critically, use their imagination, and understand how engineering can improve the world around them. Through the programme, children learn that engineering is not just about machines and technology—it is about solving problems and making life better for others.

We are delighted that several children from Simple Lessons CIC have received Distinction Awards and Winner Awards for their outstanding ideas and designs. These achievements reflect the creativity, determination, and innovative thinking of our young learners.

The competition has provided our children with a unique opportunity to see their ideas recognised on a national stage, helping them build confidence and develop aspirations for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and design.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Primary Engineer programme and inspiring the next generation of inventors, designers, and problem-solvers.
